Cycling UK annually organises Bike Week to promote cycling with the aim to get more people cycling as part of their every day lives. Events are held across the country and this year Bike Week is on from June 9th – 17th.
Cycling is a great activity and all the family can get involved. It has so many benefits including health, social and environmental.
Our chiropractors at Newcastle Chiropractic Clinic encourage everyone to be physically active and take regular exercise. It so important for the health of our backs as well as our overall health and well-being.
Unfortunately our increasingly sedentary lifestyles are causing havoc with our backs and overall health, come to that. Moderate exercise is vital to building and maintaining strength and flexibility and improving posture which all help in protecting our backs.
If you’re suffering back pain then you may believe, as do many back pain sufferers, that resting is the best thing for it, however, in many instances this is not the case. Contrary to popular belief taking a moderate level of exercise can be the best thing. However, it’s always best to check with your chiropractor or health professional to determine what’s right for you.
Our team of chiropractors are here to help if you are suffering back pain. You can call us on 01782 711 191ti book an appointment. After a thorough consultation and examination they will be able to advise you on the best treatment for your back pain.
If you haven’t taken any exercise for sometime or are in pain or discomfort it is always advisable to check with your chiropractor or health care professional before starting.
If you are ready to saddle up and get peddling then we are very fortunate that we have many great places to cycle around our areas of Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire Council have produced a sets of cycle maps for each district of Staffordshire to help cyclists plan their journeys. Here’s one for around Newcastle under Lyme. The Visit Stoke on Trent website also offers information on cycle routes around Stoke which takes in some of the 150kms plus of cycle routes around.
Why not give a cycling a go during Bike Week. Get active, get peddling and take in the local sites at the same time – what could be better.
